Liga de Quito achieves historic feat by qualifying for Libertadores quarterfinals

Liga de Quito is solidifying a remarkable chapter in its international tournament history, securing a place in the Copa Libertadores quarterfinals for the second year running. Under coach Gustavo Álvarez, Liga de Quito advanced to the quarterfinals after a penalty shootout victory over Mirassol. This marks the second consecutive season the team has reached the top eight, following their semifinal appearance in the 2025 edition. According to Spanish statistician MisterChip, this is the first time Liga de Quito has reached the Copa Libertadores quarterfinals in two consecutive years.
