Ligachem, AbL Bio confirm anti-cancer efficacy of ADC candidate exported to China

South Korean biotech firms Ligachem Bio and AbL Bio have announced positive results from a Phase 1b clinical trial for their jointly developed antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) candidate, CS5001. The promising findings, confirmed by both companies, showcase the drug's anti-cancer efficacy in patients with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL). This candidate was previously licensed to Chinese partner Synthon Pharmaceuticals, which has now published the trial data in its interim business report. The study specifically evaluated CS5001 in 31 patients diagnosed with DLBCL who had not yet undergone first-line treatment, indicating a focus on a challenging patient population. The confirmation of efficacy in this trial marks a significant step for the development of CS5001, potentially paving the way for further clinical evaluation and eventual therapeutic application.
