Lima and Callao to Face Extended Power Outages on June 23-24 for Maintenance

Residents in more than 10 districts across Lima and Callao are set to experience significant power outages on June 23 and 24. Pluz Energía has announced scheduled maintenance work aimed at improving the electrical grid, but the disruptions could last up to 11 hours in certain locations.

The planned interruptions will affect nine districts in the capital and the port city of Callao. Among the affected areas are San Juan de Lurigancho, Los Olivos, San Miguel, and Callao itself. The outages will impact a range of residential areas, including urbanizations, human settlements, and housing associations, with specific times varying by sector.

On Tuesday, June 23, districts such as Rímac, Carabayllo, San Juan de Lurigancho, Lurigancho-Chosica, Lima Cercado, San Miguel, and Magdalena del Mar will face power suspensions. For example, parts of Rímac will be without electricity from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., while Lurigancho-Chosica faces an extended outage from 8:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

The following day, Wednesday, June 24, the district of Independencia is also scheduled for power interruptions. The full schedule, including affected streets and precise timings, has been provided by the energy company to allow residents to prepare for the temporary loss of service.
