Limache thrashed San Marcos and kept their Copa Chile option alive

Deportes Limache kept their Copa Chile aspirations alive with a commanding 4-1 victory over San Marcos de Arica at the Estadio "Lucio Fariña." The win, achieved on the fifth matchday of Group A, positions Limache to potentially advance to the next stage of the tournament.

San Marcos de Arica initially took the lead in the 25th minute through Matías Moya. However, Deportes Limache responded before halftime, with Marcos Arturia netting the equalizer in the 32nd minute. The home team then asserted their dominance in the second half, scoring three more goals to seal the comprehensive win.

Ezequiel Aguirre put Limache ahead in the 50th minute, followed by a brace from Daniel Castro, who scored in the 57th and again in the 81st minute. This decisive performance brought Deportes Limache's point total to eight, placing them third in Group A. They are level on points with Deportes Iquique but trail due to goal difference. Coquimbo Unido leads the group with nine points.
