Line 1 Northbound Train Skips Noryangjin Station Due to Disability Group Protest

The National Federation of Persons with Disabilities (Jeonjangyeon) staged a subway boarding protest on Monday morning, disrupting morning commutes.

The protest led to the northbound Line 1 train bypassing Noryangjin Station in Seoul. Korea Railroad Corporation issued a safety announcement, informing passengers that the train would not stop at Noryangjin Station due to the ongoing demonstration. However, express trains heading to Yongsan were still making their scheduled stop at the station.

Earlier, a similar protest on Line 4 caused trains to skip Hyehwa Station northbound starting at 8:42 AM. However, normal operations resumed at Hyehwa Station by 9:33 AM, with trains stopping as scheduled.

This marks the first subway boarding protest by Jeonjangyeon in approximately one month, with their previous action occurring on the 2nd of the previous month. The group's demonstrations aim to advocate for disability rights and accessibility.
