Linglong factory stores hazardous materials against regulations, "Građanski preokret" reports

The Chinese tire factory Linglong in Zrenjanin is storing hazardous materials in violation of regulations, environmental inspectors have determined. The materials are classified as "Seveso" substances, indicating a high risk of major accidents. The association "Građanski preokret" revealed that these findings, which were kept hidden from the public for over a year, show an unprofessional and irresponsible practice by the Zrenjanin city authorities. They have failed to develop a major accident protection plan, despite the significant danger to citizens' lives and health. The association stated that the Linglong factory was built while violating numerous regulations in environmental protection, construction, and human rights, due to the favorable attitude of local and state authorities towards the Chinese company at the expense of the public interest.
