Amidst this preparation, the footballer, soon to turn 39, has received an international distinction: the 2026 Princess of Asturias Sports Prize. The jury cited his career and conduct, highlighting not only his dazzling talent on the field but also his consistent charitable work focused on children's health and education.

Upon the official announcement by the Princess of Asturias Foundation, Messi's wife, Antonela Roccuzzo, reacted swiftly on her digital platforms.
