Lions’ 22-year-old prospect makes immediate impact after returning to Taiwan’s top league

Lin Pei-wei made an immediate impact after returning to Taiwan’s top baseball league following an absence of more than a month. The 22-year-old Uni-President Lions player came in as a pinch hitter in the sixth inning and delivered a run-scoring single in his first plate appearance back.

Lions manager Lin Yue-ping said veteran Chen Yung-chi had been playing frequently and appeared to run out of energy after his third at-bat. “He has been playing consecutive games, so his stamina must be declining. We have also been using him quite frequently recently. After his third at-bat, his energy was clearly gone, and Pei-wei hit a key single. I hope he prepares well during this period,” Lin said.
