“Listed as the 10th floor, actually the 2nd”: About 7,000 suspected violations on real estate platforms for three straight years

A home advertised as being on the 10th floor turned out to be on the second, while another listed as roughly 17 pyeong had a different actual size. Both cases involved suspected violations on online real estate platforms.

Major platforms, including Naver Real Estate, Dabang, Zigbang, Karrot Market and Peter Pan’s Good Room Finding, recorded about 7,000 suspected violations annually for three consecutive years. Figures totaled 7,089 in 2023, 6,817 in 2024 and 6,944 last year.

The figures came from data obtained by the office of Yoon Jong-gun, a Democratic Party lawmaker on the National Assembly’s Land, Infrastructure and Transport Committee, from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport’s Real Estate Advertising Market Monitoring Center. The total combines breaches of mandatory disclosure requirements, violations involving advertisers and false advertising.
