With this win, the Panamanian team broke the tie at the top of Group A, distancing themselves from the Colombians and solidifying their position as the sole leader with a perfect 2-0 record. The offensive power and pitching dominance were evident from the start, with Panama scoring in the first three innings before delivering a knockout blow with a rally of four runs in the fifth and six in the sixth.
