The upcoming UFC Freedom 250 event, scheduled to take place on the South Lawn of the White House, is facing a forecast of "chaotic weather," including heavy rain and potential thunderstorms. The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Washington D.C. and surrounding areas, raising concerns about possible delays to the event.

The event is part of the United States's 250th-anniversary celebrations and notably coincides with U.S. President Donald Trump's 80th birthday. Seven fights are scheduled for the card, culminating in a lightweight title fight between Justin Gaethje and Ilia Topuria. Other notable bouts include Sean O'Malley vs. Aiemann Zahabi and Alex Pereira vs. Ciryl Gane for an interim heavyweight title.

Despite the inclement weather forecast, which also warns of mosquitoes and gnats, the White House's "Rapid Response Team" has downplayed the concerns. In a social media post, the team dismissed worries about the weather, stating, "This event is about celebrating America's unmatched greatness after 250 years. Rain or shine, we're celebrating our great country no matter what. GOD BLESS AMERICA!"

The Weather Channel has indicated a decent chance of heavy rain and thunderstorms, accompanied by 55 km/h wind gusts, which could disrupt the schedule on the South Lawn. The forecast also mentions the presence of insects that fighters might have to contend with inside the cage.
