Universitatea Craiova and "U" Cluj are set to clash in the Romanian Supercup, marking the opening of the 2026/2027 competitive season. The highly anticipated match will take place on July 12 at the "Ion Oblemenco" Stadium in Craiova, with Universitatea Craiova entering the contest as the favored team.

The game kicked off after the Romanian national anthem was played and a moment of silence was observed for Radu Mărgineanu and Gabi Mureșan. Referee Iulian Călin is overseeing the match, assisted by Florin Neacșu and Marin Nicușor on the lines. The fourth official is Florin Andrei, and Laszlo Imre Bucsi serves as the reserve referee. The VAR room will be managed by Adrian Cojocaru and Valentin Porumbel, with a backup system in place at the stadium due to it being the first match utilizing the new VAR Hub in Mogoșoaia.
