Liverpool have 'obvious' gaps to address in transfer market, says Iraola

Liverpool manager Andoni Iraola has pinpointed "obvious gaps" in the squad that require attention in the transfer market, citing player departures and injury setbacks as primary concerns. He added that the number of players needed is difficult to determine while the market remains open, emphasizing the need to remain receptive to options that could improve the squad. Other positions will be assessed based on market dynamics, cost, and the performance of existing players, particularly those currently dealing with injuries.

The departures of Salah, Konate, and Robertson have notably thinned the squad's experience. Iraola highlighted the crucial role of veteran players like Virgil van Dijk and goalkeeper Alisson Becker in guiding new and young players through their adaptation process. "We need the references like Virgil (van Dijk), like Alisson, like Joe Gomez, players that have been here for a long time. And I'm sure we will have this help, yes," he stated.
