Llull Extends Real Madrid Contract; Hezonja's Future Unclear

Real Madrid's captain, Sergio Llull, has committed to the club for another season, extending his contract until the summer of 2027. The veteran guard, who joined Real Madrid in 2007, is set to begin his 20th season with the European powerhouse. Real Madrid praised Llull, stating he "exemplarily represents the values of our club."

During his illustrious career with Real Madrid, Llull has amassed an impressive 29 trophies, including three EuroLeague titles, one Intercontinental Cup, nine Spanish league championships, seven Copa del Rey titles, and nine Spanish Super Cups. He also holds the club record for the most appearances, with 1,249 games played.

Meanwhile, the future of Croatian international Mario Hezonja remains uncertain. Hezonja, who was named the MVP of the league stage last season, has a contract with Real Madrid for three more years. However, Spanish media reports suggest he is considering a move to the NBA. Hezonja reportedly informed the club management of his desire to activate an NBA clause in his contract but failed to pay the required $850,000 within the stipulated time.

This clause prevents him from joining any other European team without a transfer fee. Real Madrid has not yet released any official statements regarding Hezonja's status for the upcoming season. Notably, Hezonja was absent from the club's promotional photos for the new season's jerseys, although he is still listed as a Real Madrid player on the official website.
