Longines Modernizes the Master Collection with Its First Single-Pusher Chronograph

Longines is giving its nearly 200-year watchmaking tradition a contemporary update with a new generation of Master Collection timepieces. The headline addition is the brand’s first single-pusher chronograph, which controls starting, stopping and resetting through one pusher integrated into the crown.

The 41-millimeter stainless-steel chronograph comes with a silver opaline dial or a frosted blue wheat-pattern dial. Raised Arabic numerals improve legibility, while a pulsometer scale lets the wearer calculate a heart rate after counting 30 beats. The watch uses Longines’ L799.5 manually wound column-wheel movement, fitted with an antimagnetic silicon balance spring and visible through a transparent caseback. It is priced at NT$119,300.

Longines has also introduced a full-calendar moon-phase chronograph that draws on the complicated pocket-watch tradition of the early 20th century. Its wheat-pattern dial places the date, day, month, chronograph counters, moon-phase display, small seconds and 24-hour indicator in a structured layout. The 41-millimeter stainless-steel model uses the automatic L687.5 column-wheel movement, offers 66 hours of power reserve and costs NT$130,500.

The three-hand date models now come in 30, 34, 39 and 41 millimeters. New options include a frosted blue dial and two-tone bracelet versions, while the cases and recessed bezels receive a more modern redesign. Prices cited include NT$91,300 for the 34-millimeter stainless-steel model and NT$130,500 for the 30-millimeter steel-and-18-karat-gold version. Thai actor Mario Maurer, a Longines brand friend, attended the launch and said he particularly appreciated the brand’s combination of function and design. The new watches are on display at the “Elegant Belonging” pop-up store outside the Longines boutique at Taipei 101 through September 28.
