Lotte World Tower concert success highlights cultural hub vision

Lotte World Tower is evolving into a year-round cultural destination, a vision championed by Lotte Chairman Shin Dong-bin as a way to give back to the community. The recent '2026 Lotte Summer Classic Concert,' held at the World Park, drew a crowd of over 4,500 citizens for a free outdoor performance.

The concert, themed 'A City Night of Classical Music Hosted by Lotte,' offered a diverse program ranging from traditional classical pieces to popular movie and animation soundtracks. The event featured the Ditto Chamber Orchestra conducted by Jeong Han-gyeol, with performances by violinist Danny Koo, tenor John Noh, and bandoneon player Go Sang-ji.

Attendees expressed their enjoyment, with one visitor noting, "It was wonderful to listen to classical music against the backdrop of the sunset in the city." Another shared, "I came because I heard about the classical concert, and it was a great opportunity to enjoy performances by musicians I like for free."

This initiative stems from Chairman Shin's belief that Lotte World Tower, a symbol of South Korea, should offer its value back to society. Lotte has been organizing various cultural festivals and events, including the 'Spring in Jamsil' cherry blossom festival and the 'Lotte Luminarie' light festival, alongside sports events like 'Sky Run' and 'Aquathlon.' The 'Summer Classic Concert' is planned to become an annual summer signature event.

Chairman Shin's vision is proving effective, with Lotte World Tower and Mall attracting over 500 million cumulative visitors by February of this year. Last year, annual visitor numbers surpassed 60 million, a record high, boosted by an increase in foreign tourists. A Lotte representative stated, "We plan to continue organizing diverse events to establish Lotte World Tower as a cultural attraction that everyone can visit and enjoy."
