LPBA Upset: Jo Ye-eun Defeats Star Player Sruong Pheavy to Reach Round of 32

Jo Ye-eun has caused a significant upset in the Women's Professional Billiards (LPBA) tournament, defeating Cambodia's star player Sruong Pheavy to advance to the round of 32. Jo secured her place with a commanding 25-12 victory in 16 innings during the 64-player round of the "Eco-friendly Building Materials SW PBA-LPBA Championship."

From the first inning, Jo established a strong lead, scoring four points and then five points in the subsequent innings. She extended her advantage to 18-9 by the seventh inning, with Sruong struggling to close the gap. Jo ultimately clinched the match in the 16th inning, securing her victory.

Jo's performance was exceptional, achieving an average of 1.563, which ranked her first among all players in the 64-player round. This marks a potential personal best for Jo, who debuted in the 2021-2022 season. She will face Jeon Ji-yeon in the round of 32.

In contrast, Sruong Pheavy, who had won the previous tournament and holds a total of 10 career titles, was eliminated early. This marks her second consecutive tournament without a win. Meanwhile, other prominent players, including Kim Ga-young, Kim Min-a, Kim Se-yeon, Seo Han-sol, and Choi Hye-mi, successfully advanced to the round of 32.
