LTO summons Greenhills road rage driver

The Land Transportation Office has summoned a driver involved in a road rage incident along Ortigas Avenue in Greenhills, San Juan, after a video recorded a heated confrontation with another motorist.

The LTO issued a show-cause order requiring the private-vehicle driver to appear before its Intelligence and Investigation Division. He must explain why he should not be charged as an “improper person to operate a motor vehicle.”

The driver’s license has been suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle has been placed under alarm status pending investigation.

“Anger or any misunderstanding should not be brought to the road. Regardless of the cause, it should not escalate into aggression or any action that could endanger other motorists and road users. Anyone who violates the rules and engages in such behavior will be held accountable,” LTO chief Markus Lacalinao said. The agency will continue taking action in cases involving irresponsible and dangerous road behavior.
