Lucas Macazaga leaves Leganés on loan to join Ponferradina

Lucas Macazaga, a full-back with Spanish and Bolivian nationality, is moving from Leganés' reserve team to Ponferradina on loan. The transfer aims to provide the young player with more consistent game time and an opportunity to establish himself as a significant contributor for the third-division club during the current season.

Macazaga's move represents a step up in his career, transitioning from Leganés' B team, which competes in the fifth tier of Spanish football, to Ponferradina, a team in the Primera Federación, equivalent to the third division. This change is expected to offer him greater visibility and a higher level of competition.

During the first half of the previous season, Macazaga featured in 22 matches for Leganés' reserve squad, netting three goals. His performances also earned him several call-ups to the first team, which plays in Spain's second division, though he ultimately did not make an official debut.

At Ponferradina, Macazaga will compete for a spot on the right flank, facing competition from Emi Hernández, one of the team's recent acquisitions. His arrival is intended to bolster the team's defensive options and add depth to the squad.
