Luka Modrić, 41, signs one-year contract extension with AC Milan

Luka Modrić, the celebrated Croatian midfielder, will continue his playing career for at least another season after agreeing to a one-year contract extension with AC Milan. The Italian club announced on June 24 that the 41-year-old has committed to the team until June of next year.

Modrić joined AC Milan last July, departing Real Madrid after a remarkable 13-season tenure. Despite his age, he remained a key player, featuring in 37 official matches during the 2025-2026 season and contributing two goals and three assists. However, the team's performance fell short of expectations, finishing fifth in Serie A and exiting the Coppa Italia in the round of 16.
