'M.Zubair' Wins Tekken 8 Title at 2025 Esports World Cup

Khawaja Muhammad Zubair, competing as 'M.Zubair' for AG.AL, has been crowned the Tekken 8 champion at the 2025 Esports World Cup. Zubair secured the title by defeating South Korea's Yoon Sun-woong, known as 'LowHigh', with a decisive 3-1 score in the grand finals.

His path to victory included a dominant performance in the Last Chance Qualifier, where he topped a field of 444 players. Notably, Zubair faced and defeated eight-time EVO tournament champion Arslan Siddique on two separate occasions during the event. He first bested Siddique 3-0 in the group stage and then again in a closer 5-4 match in the semifinals, showcasing his consistent skill and resilience.

Along with the prestigious title, M.Zubair received a significant prize of $250,000 from the tournament's overall purse, in addition to a $50,000 Jafonso prize. He also secured 1,000 Club Championship points for his team, AG.AL.

LowHigh, who finished as the runner-up for the second consecutive year, was awarded $130,000 and 750 Club Championship points for his team, Kiwoom DRX. The third-place match saw Benjamin Torngdee, or 'Yagami', defeat Ash with a 5-2 score.
