Madonna, Shakira, Post Malone, and other stars to appear in the World Cup final show

The closing ceremony of the 2026 FIFA World Cup final between Spain and Argentina will feature a star-studded halftime show, organizers announced. The event, scheduled for today at 10:00 PM, will include three distinct musical segments.

The pre-match "closing ceremony," approximately 90 minutes before kickoff, will showcase performances by Post Malone, Robbie Williams, Laura Pausini, and Nicole Scherzinger, who will perform "Desire," one of the official FIFA anthems. Actor Tom Cruise and content creator IShowSpeed are also expected to make appearances. Jennifer Hudson will perform a special rendition of the U.S. national anthem.

The halftime show itself will feature global music icons Madonna and Shakira, alongside the K-pop group BTS and pop star Justin Bieber. Burna Boy will join Shakira, having previously collaborated on the official 2026 World Cup anthem "Dai Dai." The show will also include Venezuelan conductor Gustavo Dudamel, the PS22 choir, and a special appearance by Coldplay.

Produced by Global Citizen, the halftime spectacle is also a fundraising initiative for the FIFA Global Fund and Global Citizen for Education. The goal is to raise $100 million to expand access to quality education and football opportunities for children worldwide. Over $30 million has already been raised, with one dollar from each World Cup ticket sale being donated to social projects.

FIFA President Gianni Infantino praised the lineup, stating, "Madonna, Shakira, and BTS are global icons whose music transcends borders and unites generations. We are proud to welcome them for this first-ever halftime show of the World Cup final, directed by Chris Martin of Coldplay." Martin described the show as being "centered on unity and open to all."
