Magnolia hit seven in Hockey 5s

Magnolia delivered the night’s most emphatic performance at the Woodbrook Youth Facility, overwhelming Ventures 7-0 in the Open Women’s division of Thursday’s Hockey 5s action.

Samantha Olton opened the scoring in the first minute, and Leah Abraham added another in the fifth. Brianna Govia then converted a penalty corner in the eighth minute, scored again a minute later, and helped Magnolia reach 5-0 when Shaniah De Freitas struck in the 10th. Govia completed her hat-trick in the 11th minute and added a fourth in the 13th.

Magnolia’s Under-21 women also kept a clean sheet, defeating Old Fort 2-0. Robyn Dash scored in the 12th minute, and Abraham doubled the lead three minutes later. The club’s Under-17 girls had a less successful outing, surrendering an early lead before losing 3-1 to Old Fort. Scout De Lima scored in the second minute, but Keitana Percival and two goals from Tinashe Henry completed Old Fort’s comeback.

Old Fort Vipers beat Malvern 2-0 in the Under-17 boys A division, but later lost 7-0 to ProSport Red. Adam Chung scored three times for ProSport, while Nkosi Marcelle added two and Cristiano Rowe scored twice.

In the Under-17 boys B division, Old Fort Predators defeated ProSport White 4-0 before losing 3-1 to Fatima. Malvern edged Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force 5-3 in the Open Men’s B division, and Paragon beat QPCC 2 by 4-1. The source text ends during the report of the Paragon match.
