Maj. Gen. Faisal Naseer appointed to lead Nacta

Pakistan has appointed Major General Faisal Naseer, a key official of the Inter-Services Intelligence agency, as national coordinator of the National Counter Terrorism Authority, or Nacta.

The Establishment Division issued a notification saying the federal government had approved the appointment. Naseer will serve under Section 9(1) of the Nacta Act, 2013, on a secondment basis.

His three-year appointment takes effect immediately and remains subject to standard terms and conditions and further orders. The appointment places a serving army officer in the national counterterrorism authority’s top coordinating role.
