Major border operation: Bosnia arrests 90 migrants as Croatia deploys drones

Bosnian police have reportedly arrested more than 90 migrants near Gradiška in an operation close to the Croatian border, while Croatian authorities deployed drones to monitor the area.

Croatia’s Interior Ministry said it increased surveillance along the Sava River after a large group of migrants was spotted on the Bosnian side. Croatian police used additional personnel and equipment to help prevent possible illegal crossings into Croatian territory.

According to unofficial information reported by 24 sata, the migrants detained by Bosnian police were mostly from Syria. Croatian border officers monitored the area from the air throughout the night and identified another group that Bosnian police were trying to locate.

The police authorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina undertook activities in their area, while Croatian police simultaneously deployed additional forces and equipment to prevent possible illegal crossings into Croatian territory.

Croatia also deployed officers with an official patrol boat, while unmanned aircraft continued monitoring the wider border area. The Interior Ministry said the operation followed a risk assessment and coordination between police authorities on both sides.
