Major twist in Bosnia and Herzegovina international’s future: Saudi club now interested

Esmir Bajraktarević has been linked with clubs in Croatia, Spain, Germany and Italy this summer. Now, in an unexpected turn, the Bosnia and Herzegovina international could be heading to Saudi Arabia.

According to Dutch media reports, Al-Ittihad has included the 21-year-old PSV winger among its possible attacking recruits. The Saudi club is looking for new options in its forward line, but there is no information about an official offer to PSV or the finances of a potential transfer.

Bajraktarević has attracted attention from Sevilla, Eintracht Frankfurt, Lazio and Fiorentina. Dinamo also considered bringing him in on loan because a permanent transfer would have required a much larger financial commitment. Reports in Bosnia and Herzegovina also suggested that Hajduk might seek a loan with an option to buy, but the Split club quickly denied that he had been one of its options.

PSV signed Bajraktarević from New England Revolution at the start of 2025 for 3 million euros. His contract runs until the summer of 2029, but heavy competition on the wings has complicated his position in the squad. PSV is therefore open to a sale if a sufficiently attractive offer arrives.

Al-Ittihad is only considering him as one possible option for now. With the Saudi transfer window approaching its end, however, the situation could change quickly. A move there would be a destination few expected after his recent links to clubs across Europe.
