Maktour CEO requests reschedule of KPK examination due to health issues

Fuad Hasan Masyhur, the CEO of PT Makassar Toraja (Maktour), has requested the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) to reschedule his examination as a witness in a corruption case concerning additional Hajj quotas for 2023-2024. Fuad cited declining health due to fatigue after returning from Saudi Arabia, where he performed the Hajj pilgrimage.

In a letter addressed to the KPK, Fuad stated, "I have now arrived in Indonesia, but my health has declined due to fatigue. Once my health recovers, I am ready to fulfill the examination summons." He confirmed he had communicated with the investigative team and reaffirmed his commitment to cooperate with the investigation once he is able.

Fuad was initially scheduled to be examined on June 2, but he could not attend as he was performing Hajj rituals. The examination was subsequently rescheduled to June 15, the current date. However, due to his current health condition, Fuad is unable to attend.

KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo confirmed the rescheduling request, stating, "Witness FHM has again confirmed submitting a request for rescheduling the examination that was supposed to take place today, arguing that his health condition is not fit." He added that the examination itself was already a rescheduled date. Budi urged Fuad to be cooperative and attend the next scheduled examination, emphasizing that witness testimonies are crucial for an effective investigation.

In addition to Fuad, the KPK summoned three other private sector witnesses: Ichwan Muzani Abrianto, Manager of Building Apartemen Pasar Baru Mansion; King Yuwono, Director of PT Trikarya Idea Sakti; and Firda Alhamdi, Finance Staff at PT Raudah Eksati Utama. These examinations are intended to complete the case files for four suspects, including former Religious Affairs Minister Yaqut Cholil Qoumas, his special staffer Ishfah Abidal Aziz, Maktour Operations Director Ismail Adham, and Asrul Azis Taba, Chairman of the Kesthuri Association and Commissioner of PT Raudah Eksati Utama, who was recently detained.
