Mallorca Airport Ground Staff Announce Strikes for Late July, Early August

Employees in ground handling services at Mallorca Airport are set to stage several partial strikes starting at the end of July and continuing into early August. The industrial action is being organized by the 'Comisiones Obreras' (CCOO) union, which is advocating for better terms related to occupational safety, work organization, pay, and other employment conditions.

The planned strikes are scheduled for July 28, and August 1, 4, and 8. Despite the union's actions, the airport anticipates that widespread flight cancellations are unlikely. The focus of the strikes is on the ground handling services provided by Swissport at the Palma de Mallorca Airport.

The CCOO union stated that their objective is to secure improvements across various aspects of employment for their members. This includes enhancing safety measures in the workplace, optimizing operational organization, achieving better compensation, and generally improving overall working conditions.
