Man, 25, Beaten to Death After Gym Dispute in Val-d'Oise

A 25-year-old man has died following a violent assault outside the "On Air" gym in Argenteuil, Val-d'Oise, on Saturday evening. The victim was reportedly beaten severely after an altercation that began inside the gym. According to the Pontoise public prosecutor's office, the dispute stemmed from an issue related to the conditions of using the gym facilities. The argument escalated and continued outside, where the victim sustained multiple blows from punches and kicks. Emergency services found the victim in cardio-respiratory arrest around 10 p.m. He passed away the following morning. A 35-year-old suspect was arrested at his home in Argenteuil on Sunday and taken into custody. Police sources indicate the suspect is known to law enforcement for previous acts of intentional violence. A judicial investigation for voluntary homicide has been opened and assigned to the territorial crime division of the Val-d'Oise police. The suspect is scheduled to appear before the judicial tribunal in Pontoise on Thursday, with prosecutors seeking his pre-trial detention.
