Vincent Pastore, the actor widely recognized for his portrayal of Salvatore "Big Pussy" Bonpensiero in the acclaimed television series 'The Sopranos,' has passed away at the age of 80. The actor was found dead in his home in The Bronx, New York, where he was born on July 14, 1946.

Neighbors had not heard from Pastore for several days, prompting them to check on him. His death was confirmed by his representative, Bob McGowan. The police are currently investigating the exact cause of his passing. Pastore's career often involved roles connected to police dramas and organized crime, including appearances in films such as 'Goodfellas' and 'Carlito's Way.'

His most iconic role came in 1999 with 'The Sopranos,' where he played one of protagonist Tony Soprano's closest associates. Bonpensiero's character was a complex figure who ultimately became an FBI informant. Pastore appeared in 30 episodes of the series. Before his acting career took off, Pastore served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He began studying acting after returning to the U.S. and secured his first film role in 'Black Roses' after the age of 40.

In his personal life, Pastore encountered a legal issue in 2005 when he pleaded guilty to charges of assaulting a former girlfriend. According to the prosecution, he struck the woman and pulled her hair. He was placed on bail during the proceedings and ultimately agreed to perform 10 days of community service and attend a rehabilitation course.
