Man Arrested for Drug Possession After Being Mistaken for Drunkard

Police in Seoul have arrested a man, identified only as A 씨, on drug charges after discovering methamphetamine and marijuana during a welfare check. The incident began when authorities responded to a report of a man exhibiting signs of intoxication.

Upon arrival at the scene, officers found A 씨 in a state where he could not stand or communicate coherently. As his behavior became increasingly erratic, the police decided to take him to the station for protective custody. It was during this process, while checking his belongings to confirm his identity and contact his guardians, that the officers discovered a syringe and a white powder on his person.

Suspecting drug use, the police immediately requested assistance from their narcotics unit. Subsequent testing confirmed that the white powder was methamphetamine. A further search of the initial location where A 씨 was found yielded marijuana.

Based on the confirmed drug use, the police arrested A 씨 under the Narcotics Control Act. The details of the case were shared via a video released on the Korean National Police Agency's YouTube channel.
