Man arrested in La Plata for hitting motorcyclists and fleeing

A 28-year-old man is in custody in La Plata, Argentina, accused of striking two young people on a motorcycle and then abandoning them. The incident occurred on June 6 at the intersection of 13 and 609 streets when a Dodge van collided with the motorcycle carrying the victims.

Security camera footage captured the moment the two individuals fell to the asphalt. The driver of the van exited his vehicle after the collision. However, after a brief exchange with the victims, he re-entered his van and fled the scene.

The investigation began after one of the victims, aged 21, filed a report. The captured video footage and the victim's testimony were crucial in helping police identify the van. Ten days after the accident, officers arrested the suspect at his residence, where the clothing he wore on the day of the incident was also seized.

The case has been classified as lesiones y daños (injuries and damages) and is being handled by the Functional Instruction Unit No. 11 of the Judicial Department of La Plata.
