Man arrested in Seoul for allegedly killing acquaintance with knife after argument

A fatal altercation in Seoul's Nowon District has led to the arrest of a 60-year-old man accused of killing an acquaintance.

The suspect, identified only as Mr. A, was taken into custody on August 8th after allegedly stabbing the victim during a heated argument. The incident took place in the Gongneung-dong area of Nowon District.

According to police reports, the dispute escalated, resulting in the suspect using a knife against the victim. Emergency services were called to the scene, and the victim was transported to a hospital, where they were pronounced dead.

Authorities apprehended Mr. A as a 현행범 (hyeonhaengbeom), meaning he was caught in the act or immediately after the crime. He was reportedly intoxicated at the time of the incident. Police are currently conducting a thorough investigation into the precise circumstances surrounding the stabbing and intend to request an arrest warrant for Mr. A.
