Man arrested on suspicion of murder after two people found dead in Blackburn house

A man in his 40s has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man and a woman were found dead at a house in Blackburn.

Lancashire Police said officers discovered the bodies on Hardman Street at about 08:20 BST. The two victims, who have not been named, were pronounced dead at the scene. Local residents told the BBC they believed the victims were elderly, although police said they could not confirm their ages.

A dedicated team is carrying out CCTV checks, house-to-house inquiries and forensic work. Parts of the street have been taped off, and police said the crime scene would remain in place for the coming days. Officers have appealed for anyone with information to contact them.
