Man Broadcasting on Social Media in Police Vest Detained

Istanbul police have apprehended a 48-year-old man, identified by the initials B.O., for illegally broadcasting on social media while impersonating law enforcement by wearing a police vest. The joint operation, conducted by the Istanbul Security Directorate's General Affairs Branch and Intelligence Branch, swiftly tracked down the suspect following reports of his online activity.

The swift action led to B.O.'s arrest in the Avcılar district of Istanbul on the same day the broadcasts were reported. A search of his person and belongings resulted in the confiscation of incriminating items, including two blank-firing pistols, the police vest he used in his broadcasts, and a mobile phone. The investigation into his motives and the full extent of his activities is ongoing.
