Man charged with child sex offences, police call for public assistance

A 50-year-old man from Deception Bay faces multiple child sex and drug offense charges following an investigation by Queensland Police. The man was arrested near Mango Hill East train station, north of Brisbane.

Police allege that on two separate occasions, June 9 and June 28, the man approached a 15-year-old girl and a 13-year-old girl near Roma Street Station in Brisbane. He then allegedly traveled with them by train to Deception Bay, where the alleged offenses occurred.

The alleged nature and circumstances of this offending are extremely concerning, particularly as we believe there may be other victims who have not yet been identified.

The man has been remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear before Caboolture Magistrates Court later this month. Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Kate Mitchell emphasized the seriousness of the allegations.

"The alleged nature and circumstances of this offending are extremely concerning, particularly as we believe there may be other victims who have not yet been identified," Mitchell stated. Police are urging anyone who may have experienced similar behavior or has information regarding incidents in the Brisbane City or Deception Bay areas to come forward.
