Man City Chase Enzo Fernandez as Arsenal Target Julian Alvarez on Transfer Deadline Day

Manchester City and Arsenal are preparing late moves for Enzo Fernandez and Julian Alvarez as the Premier League transfer deadline approaches.

City want to sign Fernandez from Chelsea, but have not yet matched Chelsea’s reported valuation of about £120 million. The midfielder has been left out of Chelsea’s squad for the past two matches as speculation grows about a move to the Etihad Stadium. A reunion with former Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca could appeal to Fernandez.

City are also expected to announce the £65 million signing of Senegal midfielder Iliman Ndiaye from Everton. Tottenham had been linked with the 26-year-old, but City appear to have secured his signature. The club is reshaping its midfield after Rodri moved to Barcelona, alongside departures involving Bernardo Silva, Nico Gonzalez and Tijjani Reijnders.

Arsenal are exploring a deal worth £128 million for Alvarez. The Argentina striker reportedly favors Barcelona, but Atletico Madrid do not want to sell him to another La Liga club and could accept Arsenal’s offer instead. Alvarez missed several training sessions and was absent from Atletico’s team for its win over Sevilla last weekend.

Arsenal have also lined up a season-long loan to Borussia Dortmund for Ethan Nwaneri. Liverpool spent £123 million on France forward Bradley Barcola from Paris Saint-Germain and are seeking another winger after Mohamed Salah joined Trabzonspor in August. Crystal Palace’s Ismaila Sarr and Brighton’s Yankuba Minteh are among their targets, while Cody Gakpo could leave if either deal goes through. Harvey Elliott is due to join Valencia on loan after last season’s disappointing spell at Aston Villa.
