Man Detained in Bishkek After Alleged Harassment of Schoolgirl on Bus

Authorities in Bishkek have apprehended a man in connection with alleged harassment of a minor on public transport. The 35-year-old suspect was detained following a report filed by the girl's mother.

The incident allegedly took place on June 28 around 5:30 PM. According to the mother's statement to the Sverdlovsk District Police Department, her 15-year-old daughter was traveling on a bus when a man seated nearby allegedly touched her thigh.

Following the report, an investigation was launched, and police identified and detained the suspect, identified as B.A., for further questioning. The Bishkek General Directorate of Internal Affairs emphasized the importance of immediate reporting of any illegal actions, particularly those affecting children, by calling the 24-hour hotline at 102.

Law enforcement also advised parents to maintain open communication with their children about safety measures in public spaces and, where possible, to monitor their travel routes. This case highlights ongoing concerns about public safety and the protection of minors.
