Man dies after 25-story fall near Zhonghe MRT station

A tragic fall from a high-rise building has resulted in the death of a 48-year-old man in New Taipei City's Zhonghe district. The incident occurred on the morning of the 12th, with the man falling from his 25th-floor residence to the ground level.

Passersby reported hearing a loud noise around 11 a.m. as the man, identified by the surname Yan, plummeted from his apartment. Emergency services arrived promptly at the scene and transported him to the Shuanghe Hospital of the Ministry of Health and Welfare. Despite resuscitation efforts, he was pronounced dead upon arrival.

Authorities have cordoned off the area near the Jingping MRT station where the fall occurred. Police forensics teams were dispatched to the scene to collect evidence. Initial investigations indicate that Yan lived alone in the apartment. The police have contacted the landlord to gain access to the residence for further examination.

The exact cause of the man's death remains under investigation pending an autopsy by the prosecutor's office. The police are also in the process of interviewing family members to gather more information.
