Man Falls Asleep on River Ring, Wakes Up in Another Country After Rescue

A Serbian man's leisurely nap on an inflatable ring turned into a dramatic rescue operation after he drifted into Romanian waters on the Danube River. The man had fallen asleep on his ring and failed to notice the strong river currents carrying him away from the shore.

Around 8:40 PM on August 3rd, Romanian border police received an emergency call about a person in distress on the Danube. A patrol boat quickly located the man, who was calling for help from the water. He was pulled onto the boat and brought safely to shore, where medical personnel attended to him. Although he was taken to the hospital for examination, his life was not in danger.

After recovering, the man explained that he had dozed off and only realized the severity of his situation when the currents had taken him too far. Romanian authorities processed the incident and subsequently handed the Serbian national over to Serbian officials. The Romanian border police shared a video of the rescue on their Facebook page.
