Man fatally shot during gathering in José C. Paz; suspect arrested

A fatal shooting in José C. Paz, Argentina, has led to the arrest of a suspect and the seizure of a firearm. Marcos Elián González, 25, was killed by multiple gunshots while socializing with friends. The incident occurred at the intersection of Goleta Sarandí and Rastreador Fournier streets, where emergency services confirmed González's death from a chest wound.

The investigation, led by UFI No. 20 and the Court of Guarantees No. 3 of the San Martín Judicial Department, moved quickly. Buenos Aires Provincial Police apprehended the main suspect, identified as Alan Agustín Vera, also 25, during a series of raids. A .38 caliber revolver was confiscated and will undergo ballistics testing to determine if it was the murder weapon.

According to witness statements, González was with a group of friends, including a woman identified as C. C., when two men known to her arrived. An argument ensued, escalating rapidly until one of the assailants produced a firearm and shot González multiple times. The two suspects fled the scene with the woman, while witnesses alerted emergency services.

Intelligence efforts by the José C. Paz Sub DDI identified Vera as the alleged perpetrator. Investigators tracked his usual haunts and identified several associated addresses. The Public Prosecutor's Office obtained search warrants, leading to simultaneous raids on three properties. While two locations yielded no results, the third, on Grito de Asencio street, resulted in Vera's arrest and the discovery of the revolver, which contained two live rounds.
