MAN hails Soludo, AIRS over tax relief for manufacturers

The Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN) has expressed its gratitude to the Anambra State Government and the State Internal Revenue Service (AIRS) for their efforts in alleviating the tax burdens faced by manufacturers. MAN specifically commended the suspension of tax-related harassment and disruptions previously caused by revenue collectors and unauthorized individuals operating within the state.

The AIRS informed the meeting that since April 2026, clear instructions had been issued to revenue collectors and relevant operatives not to harass, disturb or disrupt the activities of MAN members, and that the directive had been effectively implemented.

This commendation followed a high-level stakeholders' engagement in Awka, organized by MAN's Anambra, Enugu, and Ebonyi States Branch Chairman, Ada Chukwudozie. The meeting brought together representatives from local government authorities, the Anambra State Government, and AIRS to discuss practical solutions for challenges such as multiple taxation, overlapping levies, and the harassment of manufacturers by touts posing as tax enforcers.

Chukwudozie explained that MAN initiated the meeting to address the persistent issues of multiple taxation and harassment. She noted that manufacturers in Anambra had endured frequent disruptions from miscreants exploiting ambiguities in tax regulations. However, she acknowledged a marked improvement in recent months due to the intervention of AIRS and the state government. "The AIRS informed the meeting that since April 2026, clear instructions had been issued to revenue collectors and relevant operatives not to harass, disturb or disrupt the activities of MAN members, and that the directive had been effectively implemented," Chukwudozie stated.

MAN thanks AIRS for their effort, and we acknowledged that the incessant harassment previously experienced from miscreants and other unauthorised actors had largely been put on hold.
