Man in critical condition after apartment fire in Nørresundby

A man is in critical condition after being rescued from a burning apartment building in Nørresundby, Denmark, on Tuesday evening. The fire, which produced heavy flames, prompted a response from Nordjyllands Police and emergency services.

Upon arrival, authorities observed intense flames emanating from the apartment's front door and the property. Police patrols were unable to enter due to the fire and smoke, but the fire department quickly arrived and gained access to the residence. Inside, they found the apartment's sole occupant, a man, unconscious.

Emergency personnel administered cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) to the man before transporting him to Aalborg University Hospital. He is currently receiving treatment in critical condition. The fire has since been extinguished, and damage is largely contained to the affected apartment, though surrounding units sustained water, smoke, and soot damage.

The cause of the fire remains undetermined, and a formal investigation will be conducted. Residents affected by the fire will be temporarily rehoused.
