Man in Spider-Man Suit Helps Wheelchair User Cross Busy Arkansas Intersection

In a heartwarming display of community spirit, a man dressed as the Marvel superhero Spider-Man stepped in to assist a person in a wheelchair navigate a busy intersection in Jonesboro, Arkansas.

The incident, captured by a street security camera and shared by the Jonesboro Police Department, shows the individual in the wheelchair struggling to cross six lanes of traffic. The man in the Spider-Man costume, identified as 20-year-old Christopher Hellenthal, emerged from his red Jeep at a traffic light and pushed the wheelchair across the crosswalk to safety.

Hellenthal, who works at a trampoline park and was dressed for a superhero-themed event, told The Associated Press he acted quickly due to adrenaline. "I was just kind of thinking, 'I'm wearing this suit; it's going to be pretty funny,'" he said, noting the bustling midday traffic.

After ensuring the person was safely across, Hellenthal quickly returned to his Jeep, which had been blocking traffic, as the light turned green. Whether it's a red light or green light, there is always time to do what's right."
