Man killed, woman seriously injured in Donegal crash

A fatal car crash in Pettigo, Co. Donegal, on Sunday afternoon claimed the life of a man in his 20s and left a woman, also in her 20s, with serious injuries. The collision occurred around 2:45 p.m. and involved the car the pair were traveling in and a 4x4 vehicle.

Emergency services responded to the scene, where the man was pronounced dead. His passenger was transported to the hospital for treatment of her serious injuries. The driver of the 4x4, a man in his 60s, was also taken to the hospital for medical assessment.

The road where the crash occurred was closed to facilitate a forensic examination. Local diversions were put in place to manage traffic flow. Gardaí are appealing to the public for any information that could aid their investigation. They are particularly interested in witnesses or anyone who was in the area at the time of the collision, especially those with dashcam or mobile phone footage.
