Man pleads guilty to murdering Dandenong woman Eva Lasrini

Allen Keys admitted murdering Dandenong woman Eva Lasrini, five months after police arrested him as he tried to board an international flight at Melbourne Airport.

Keys, 68, appeared by video link from Melbourne's remand centre at the Melbourne Magistrates' Court. He spoke only to confirm his guilty plea to the murder charge.

Lasrini, a 53-year-old mother of two, was killed at Little River, between Melbourne and Geelong, on April 1. Her family reported her missing after she failed to contact them as expected. Her body was found three days later near Little River Road and the Princes Freeway.

Keys, who lives in Patterson Lakes in Melbourne's south, was arrested at Melbourne International Airport on April 3 while attempting to board a flight overseas. He was taken into custody on a murder charge.

Lasrini was remembered as a devoted mother to her two daughters. She had been studying English and wrote on social media about receiving a great opportunity to learn. Keys will return to court for a directions hearing in the Victorian Supreme Court on September 28.
