Man Resists Arrest, Disrupts Train Traffic in Arnstadt

A man sought on an arrest warrant resisted police apprehension in Arnstadt, leading to a brief disruption of train services and minor injuries to an officer. The incident occurred Saturday morning when officers attempted to arrest the 36-year-old man at the train station.

According to police, the man fled the scene, leading officers across train tracks and necessitating a temporary suspension of rail traffic. During his escape, he allegedly threw stones at the officers and threatened them with a glass carafe. Police responded by deploying pepper spray to subdue him.

The man continued to resist even after being apprehended, sustaining minor injuries himself during the struggle. Following a medical examination, he was taken to a detention facility. He is now under investigation for charges including attempted dangerous bodily harm, resisting law enforcement officers, making threats, and insult.

Authorities have not yet disclosed the specific reason for the original arrest warrant that prompted the encounter.
