Man runs for life after alleged attack by ex

A 42-year-old man narrowly escaped an alleged knife attack by his ex-girlfriend at his home in Laventille, Trinidad, on Monday. The incident occurred around noon when the woman entered his residence unannounced, wielding a knife.

According to the man's account to police, an argument ensued, during which the ex-girlfriend attempted to seize his car keys from the kitchen counter. While he tried to prevent her from taking them, she allegedly stabbed him multiple times on his left and right forearms.

Fearing for his safety, the man fled the house. He reported being struck by a bottle that his ex-girlfriend allegedly threw at him as he escaped. He then drove himself to the Port of Spain General Hospital, where he received treatment for his injuries. Following his treatment, Besson Street Police were notified.

After being discharged from the hospital, the man encountered his current girlfriend, who informed him that his ex-girlfriend had allegedly taken his Samsung cellphone, valued at $2,500, from his home. Besson Street Police are continuing their investigation into the incident.
