Man sentenced to six years for attempted murder in Ballerup stabbing

A Danish court has sentenced a 35-year-old man to six years in prison for attempting to murder another man in Ballerup. The violent incident occurred on the evening of September 3 last year in an apartment complex.

The 37-year-old victim suffered multiple stab wounds, including five to his back, and was in life-threatening condition. He managed to reach his neighbor's door for help before collapsing. The neighbor provided first aid and alerted emergency services. The victim survived after receiving hospital treatment.

Shortly after the attack, the now-convicted man called emergency services, claiming he was present but that two other individuals committed the assault. During the trial at the Court of Glostrup, the accused remained silent. The victim testified that the defendant was the one who stabbed him, though he could not recall the specific circumstances.

In total, the victim sustained seven stab wounds to his upper body. The prosecution confirmed the details of the injuries. The convicted man is currently considering whether to appeal the court's decision.
