Man seriously injured in tree removal accident at Humbeek castle estate

A 57-year-old man sustained a severe foot injury after a tree fell on him while he was performing tree removal services at the 's-Gravenkasteel estate in Humbeek. The incident occurred around 10 a.m. on July 10th. The man, who is the owner of a specialized tree removal company based in Kapelle-op-den-Bos, was working on the castle grounds when the accident happened.

According to Mayor Bart Laeremans (Vernieuwing), the tree, which was dead and scheduled for removal, apparently shifted unexpectedly during the operation, pinning the man's foot. The fire department, an ambulance, and police responded to the scene to extricate the injured man. He was conscious and able to communicate after the accident, Laeremans confirmed.
